Aviles-Jimenez Wedding

The best way to end the year was booking my first ever wedding.  Helen and Amando tied the knot on December 18th at the world renowned (and absolutely gorgeous)TPC Sawgrass.  I teamed up with a long-time friend and also a wonderful photographer - Jackie Tabony of Tabfoto Photography.  Together we came up with "TabAloy" as our team name.  I won't lie, I was super nervous.  Initially I thought:  "what the heck did I get us into?" Thankfully, the bride and guests made it extra comfortable for me.  That, and the fact that I knew many of the guests helped also =).  We arrived at 11:00 AM and shot until about 10:30 PM.  Note to self:  bring an extra pair of shoes or never wear boots with 4 inch heels to another wedding event again.  All in all, it was a great learning experience.  I'm ready to do it again! Just a teaser! and some unseen on Facebook.

Typhoon Lagoon 2011 Winter Session

As some of you may know, I am involved in "Team Halo Halo," a group of friends that get together and do sports, particularly snowboarding and surfing, but any sport is game.  We are usually up for any challenge.  Each year, Team Halo Halo has it's annual Typhoon Lagoon surf fest in which we rent the Orlando-based waterpark's wave pool.  Waves are beefed up to over 7 feet at times. There are 100 waves and choice of lefts, rights, or a-lines.  I unfortunately, sat the last two sessions out.  This particular day was pretty darn cold and the other probably due to pregnancy. But had I surfed, you would've never had the joy of viewing these photos!

Holiday Mini Session - The Tiansing Family

The Tiansing Family chose to do one of my holiday mini sessions and thank goodness it was a mini session because it was a COLD and WINDY day! Which made me happy because the family cuddling took no effort.  The biggest challenge that day was the wind.  Unfortunately, at the beach, there are no buildings to block the wind and yes, hair was flying everywhere! I present to you.. the Tiansing Family (minus one).

Holiday Mini Session - The Alforque Family

The Alforque Family was another one of my Holiday Mini Sessions.  This was one of the more difficult shoots considering both parents were deaf.  It was a challenge, but we managed to communicate well and it shows in the photos.  Their daughter, Miah, is such an inspiration to me.  Although unable to speak words to her parents, she managed to conduct both her parents and I in this shoot.  She is a strong girl with a wonderful heart who shows her parents that she loves them with more than just words.  I <3 this family!

Holiday Mini Session- The Parrott Family

The holidays came and went but boy did I have fun! Holiday mini sessions are something I'm definitely going to do again.  The Parrott family was like my guinea pig.  I never did a mini session and they were my first.  I loved the way they color coordinated.  I even made their Christmas cards to match.  It was a quick, easy session and definitely something a family can do "on the run."
